They say marriage is about compromise, and where better to start than with the honeymoon! If you’re lucky enough to be married to a boy who loves a little adventure, but you’re still keen to spend a little time lazing by the pool with a cocktail, Vietnam is the perfect honeymoon destination, with something for both of you!
Vietnam makes an ideal honeymoon spot, because it’s home to some amazing hotels, beautiful food, as well as some stunning scenery and some of the friendliest locals around. If you’re thinking of heading to this gem of a honeymoon location, here’s a few tips to make it a holiday to remember!
Where to visit: There’s plenty of spots on the tourist trail that are must visits while you’re in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh is a must visit, if only to experience the pace! There’s also plenty to do. Book in a cooking class with Saigon Cooking Class, and have a local chef take you to the markets to pick up your ingredients and get a lesson on turning them into a feast.
Visit Hoi An, a town that lights up at night with thousands of beautiful lanterns, and spend your days exploring the streets. It’s also a hot spot for tailors, so if you’re keen to top up the wardrobe, this is the place to do it.
Head north to Halong Bay and take a junk boat trip for some truly beautiful scenery.
Where to stay: There’s so many options for all sorts of budgets, but we love the Mia Resort in Nha Trang – you won’t want to leave! You can also arrange some pretty amazing trips right from the resort, like a private speedboat tour of the islands surrounding this beach town. Don’t forget to check out Mr and Mrs Smith for amazing accommodation options.
What to eat: One of the best things about Vietnam is the food! A delicious combination of Asian and French, there are so many amazing spots to eat! Try Au Park for breakfast in Ho Chi Minh, Ngon for restaurant quality street food, and Morning Glory in Hoi An, one of the oldest restaurants in town. Try and avoid the expensive European places, as you’ll be disappointed!
Ever After Hot Tip: Make sure you tell all of the hotels you’re staying at that it’s your honeymoon – you’ll be treated like royalty!
